Inspired by the seasonal return of Portland’s Vaux’s Swifts—where migration, community, and fleeting beauty meet—Vaux celebrates the rhythms of nature through seasonality at the table.

Every summer, North America’s largest concentration of Vaux (rhymes with “flocks”) Swifts gathers in Northwest Portland during their migration to Central America. This iconic and fleeting natural spectacle has inspired generations of locals—and gave Vaux its name.

Located inside the Canopy Hotel Portland | Pearl District, in the heart of the Pearl District, Vaux offers an all-day, seasonal, contemporary menu rooted in the flavors and products of the Pacific Northwest. Our beverage program highlights signature and seasonal cocktails made with local producers, alongside Willamette Valley wines and regional craft beers.

Surrounded by fine and local art curated by Elizabeth Leach Gallery—including a sculpture inspired by the Vaux’s Swifts by Portland artist Sean Healy—Vaux features a dining room, comfortable lounge, and outdoor patio along NW Glisan, creating a welcoming space to gather and linger.
